For those We Serve...
Early on, our grant recipients learn first-hand that successes are possible in spite of their disabilities. Recipients achieve in areas they "should not." With years of further exploration and aspirations, even greater heights can and will be reached.
It is our hope that these disabled youth then spread their work ethic and dedication to inspire others throughout their own communities to attack life with the same passion they demonstrate.
Weaknesses, no matter how debilitating, are obstacles meant to be overcome.
As an Emerging Organization...
We aspire to:
1. Unify the world of disability non-profits through a wealth of partnerships. The non-profit world must become more inclusive within the disabled community.
2. Discover creative and innovative solutions to enable the rise of a population which has historically lacked behind.
3. Enact solutions on the local, regional, national, and global levels to give every disabled youth the tools and funding needed for personal growth.
Confidence from personal success allow individuals to lead systemic change.
For the Global Disabled Community...
The world places too many boundaries and barriers. There is no doubt that a physical or mental disability is difficult to overcome. However, just like a setback any person encounters, the situation can be changed with diligence.
Think Alive, as part of a larger global effort, looks to reinforce this to all by highlighting many achieving disabled youth while providing financial assistance many others.
In time, such efforts will force the world to see the populations as achievers and non-achievers, not as disabled and able-bodied. Actions should define our roles in society.
Stereotypes will continue to define us all unless we attack each new challenge and attempt to reach our full potential.
