Thank you for your interest in The Think Alive Foundation's Achievement Grants. These grants are not a crutch on which to rest, but instead serve to propel a lifetime of success. By awarding Achievement Grants to America's disabled youth, passionate exploration of abilities, goal setting, and the lessons learned through them can propel these youth to heights that many once deemed "impossible."
Basic Eligibility Requirements:
1. WHO can receive a grant?: Youth 21 years of age and under with a documented disability are eligible.
2. WHATcan grants finance?: Lessons, equipment, travel expenses, entrance fees, and other costs associated with personal passions, aspirations or goals are acceptable. Grants can be in the athletic, artistic, musical/theater, or almost any other unique arena.
3. WHAT is the maximum grant award?: Our general Achievement Grant is capped at $500 per award. Smaller awards, however, are quite common. We look to establish special granting programs with select Community Partners that exceed this threshold.
4. WHERE should grants be used?: Generally, Think Alive either 1.) provides pre-paid accounts at local businesses or community organizations for the recipient to use or 2.) purchases equipment and ships directly to the recipient.
5. WHEN are they to be used?: Our grantmaking philosophy is simple: process grants quickly to maximize recipient growth. To make this possible, we ask that they begin their activity within one month of the grant award.
